With the final round of the US Open series coming up October 28-31, Karting Community United has been hard at work preparing some fun activities for everyone during the Halloween weekend event.
Karting Community United will kick off the festivities on Wednesday, October 28 with a Welcome and Thank You Party in the Presidential Suite at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino from 8-11pm. Drinks and snacks will be available for kids with a cash bar for adults. KCU will be accepting donations, and t-shirts will be available for purchase. Everyone is welcome.
“The Welcome and Thank You Party will be a great way to unwind at the end of the first official on-track day,” notes KCU founder Jen Durrant. “Everyone will have a chance to mix and mingle in the Presidential Suite, and get into the Halloween spirit! We can’t thank everyone enough for the great support of KCU, and this is the perfect way to give a little back to the karting family.”
KCU has organized Halloween festivities including a costume contest and trick-or-treating through the paddock for Thursday, October 29 starting after the day’s final heat race. The costume contest will take place on the grid, following acknowledgment of the US Open series championship point leaders. All ages are welcome to participate in the contest. A drawing will also be featured for all Micro and Mini drivers, with fun prizes up for grabs. No tickets are necessary – all registered Micro and Mini drivers will automatically be entered into the draw. Following the costume contest and draws, kids will be able to trick-or-treat through the paddock at team tents.
“The costume contest and trick-or-treating on Thursday will be a great opportunity to have everyone get dressed up and celebrate Halloween at the US Open,” adds Durrant. “We want to make this a fun event for all, but especially the kids who won’t get to celebrate Halloween at home or at school.”
KCU has teamed up with d’Orlando Racing and WB Mason to help support the candy supply for trick-or-treating. WB Mason will take online orders, via the d’Orlando Racing online store, and have candy purchased shipped directly to Las Vegas. This will provide an opportunity to help teams prepare in advance for trick-or-treating. Additionally, all proceeds from the online sales will benefit the charity of Karting Community United.
KCU is anticipating approximately 100 kids to participate in trick-or-treating, and is strongly encouraging all teams to participate. Online orders must be received no later than October 20th. WB Mason will ship the product directly, and orders will be delivered to the official shipping partner of the US Open, Acceleration Kart Racing. Please note: regardless of what shipping address is entered on the site, all orders will go to Acceleration Karting and be delivered to the paddock. “Thank you to Curtis and crew at Acceleration Kart Racing for accepting the packages and delivering orders to the paddock free of charge,” concludes Durrant. “And thanks to all for your support throughout the year! See you in Vegas!”
